April 2023 Newsletter
Friends,
Q: What’s the best thing about Switzerland?
A: I don’t know, but their flag is a big plus!
It’s tax season and in Connecticut you have until Tuesday April 18, 2023 to file your return or a request for an extension this year. If you do need to file that is.
My accountant and wife are in cahoots and tell me that I need more expenses. I feel like each year I pay more in taxes and more to my accountant, but they say that as long as I keep growing my revenue it’s a good thing to pay more and spend more. I’m not sure I get that, but since my wife is a genius, I’ll listen.
So, I’m putting my money where my mouth is. Literally.
Last month I shared a concept of Gratitude Letters, and so I tested it out and sent 18 such letters. It truly felt good. Two of the good replies resulted in a lunch with my original trainer from 2 years ago to celebrate me losing 50 pounds in 2 years, and lunch with a client who inspired me to work until at least age 80 who is also someone I rely on as a personal psychologist and coach. If I stay healthy, I’ll do it because I love what I do.
I appreciate everyone who opens and looks at my monthly newsletter. I’m even grateful that Mail Chimp has to charge me more now because I have more people on my distribution list and therefore more expenses. AND
I am offering a FREE LUNCH to the 26th person to open this April’s newsletter. This will be a random drawing based on when you opened it to look at it. I’ll announce the winner in May. Good Luck!
Kind Regards,
Michael Antonini

FDA Fast-Tracks Second Alzheimer’s Treatment
Another drug that has shown early promise in treating Alzheimer’s disease has been approved for treating some people with cognitive decline even as clinical trials continue.
The Food and Drug Administration said recently that lecanemab, sold under the brand name Leqembi by developers Eisai and Biogen, slowed decline in patients in the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease.
The FDA says data showed those in the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease who received lecanemab, which it’s makers say will cost $26,000 a year, had a “significant reduction in brain amyloid plaque” (and I though lunch was expensive!).

Important Dates
April 1: April Fool's Day. It was 19 years ago today that I met my wife Amy S. Okrepkie. I hope I can enjoy at least 19 more years of a work-life balance by listening to her more often. I'm the fool, Amy is the genius. We're now also blessed with a Johnny and a Frankie. Plus Cocoa our dog and cats Sister and Loose Lucy. Our next dog I'm going to name Five Miles so I can tell people I walked five miles every day.
April 9: Easter Sunday. It falls on a Sunday again this year!
April 7-16: Spring Break. Our family is headed out on vacation and I will have limited access to email and text AND I'm not going to answer my phone. Nope, sorry!
Happy birthday to all celebrating birthdays in April.
All the Best,
Michael
